Groups for children and youth
We love having lots of children and young people at St Peter's. We believe that children are a gift from God, are loved by Jesus, and are the future of the church, so we are deeply committed to providing the very best care, fun, and appropriate Bible input to even the youngest members of our family.
We have fantastic facilities, and a committed team of full-time and volunteer staff who run groups for all ages. As well as the groups for young people that run during services on Sundays, we also offer the following midweek groups.
Here are some of the activities and groups we're running for them at the moment.
For adults, babies and pre-school children
Mini ABC: Although we can't run our usual ABC groups as usual, we're excited to run ABC Mini on Monday and Friday mornings, with songs, play and Bible stories together. Due to Covid restrictions, places are limited. Please get in touch to join a waiting list.
ABC New Mums: This support group is for mums with new babies and runs on Wednesday mornings. Due to Covid restrictions, places must be booked in advance.
For Nursery and Reception age children
Sundays: Little Explorers is a group that offers Bible teaching in a fun and engaging way. In this group, young children learn truths through interactive stories, activities, prayer and craft.
For school years 1 to 6
Sundays: Explorers are taught from the same passage as the rest of the Church family. They spend time all together learning from the passage, and then apply this in age-appropriate groups through playing games, doing crafts, singing songs and memorising Bible passages. For the weeks when they are not in the building, Explorers are emailed a letter in the home learning pack alongside age-appropriate activities.
Tuesdays: Each Tuesday at 4:30pm we run an after-school club for this age group. We have fun looking through the Bible together, playing games, doing crafts and getting to know each other.
Sundays: Pathfinders spend time studying the same passage as the rest of the Church family during their group time. They also spend time playing games and getting to know one another. For the weeks when they are not in the building, Pathfinders are encouraged to watch the live-streamed service and are invited to the post-Church Youth zoom call to discuss their thoughts on the sermon and passage.
Wednesdays: Each Wednesday at 7:30pm we run a group for young people aged 11-14. This session includes a talk from the Bible, games and time to chat in small groups. Pathfinders also have regular socials and trips to places such as Jump Evolution, Lazer Tag and Stubbers.
Sundays: CYFA are encouraged to take part in the main Church service. The Youth Team run a Zoom call after the service for young people to share their thoughts on the passage and the sermon with each other.
Wednesdays: Each Wednesday at 7:30pm we run a group for young people aged 14-18. This session includes a talk from the Bible, games and time to get to know one another. CYFA also have regular socials and trips to places such as Jump Evolution, Lazer Tag and Stubbers.
